The Toffee Shop - Our Process

Handmade Fudge and Toffee, lovingly produced to an original recipe.

Sugar, butter and milk are added to large brass pans, heated and stirred until they reach the correct temperature, before the golden liquid is hand-beaten, poured into trays and left to set overnight. The following morning the fudge is cut into slabs and the toffee is broken using special hammers, each piece is individually hand-wrapped and packaged to be dispatched and with you the next day.

Our sweets are best enjoyed super fresh – the shelf life for our fudge is 3 months and for toffee it’s 2 months.

We still use the original secret recipe first created over 100 years ago by Mrs Furnass, which gives our confectionery its uniquely distinctive flavour.
